Birds love to play so you'll need to get them some toys, But take safety into consideration also and be aware of a few things when choosing your pet's playthings:

*brittle plastic toys can shatter easily, especially when a larger bird is playing with the toys.

*lead-weighted toys can be cracked open to expose the dangerous lead.

*chains with links may be loose enough to catch toenails or beaks.

*ring toys may be too small for a bird to climb through safely.

*jingle-type bells can trap toes, tongues, or breaks.

Be sure the toys you pick are the appropriate size for your bird.
Check every inch of the toy of your choice for dangers, you wouldn't want your bird getting themselves or legs caught in a ring that is too small for them, so choose wisely.

Also, Birds love to tear things apart with their beaks so you'll need to keep an eye on their toys' condition and the larger and more active your bird, the more you'll have to shop for new toys.
TIP: Birds are creatures of habit, and any change, they will notice and sometimes get scared, so when adding something new in your birds cage, start slowly, place the toy or new perch anywhere in sight outside of their cage, then bring it closer and closer through the day, the next morning, put it in their cage  but very far, as far as you can get it from them as long as it's in the cage, your bird should not even notice it, but if they do and they get scared, just take one step back, you may have moved too quickly for your bird, keep inching it until they almost don't even notice it in their cage, as soon as it's in there, keep bringing it just a little bit closer each day for about 3 days, and by the 4th day, place it in the desired area of the cage!
