Birds and your other pets CAN become good friends (or just live nicely together) You won't have to worry about your bird getting eaten by your other pet(s) as long as Every single incounter is monitered. Even Cats Can get along well with your bird, sometimes they may get roudy around them but be sure the only time they'll ever meet (monitered of course) is when the bird is in its cage! Dogs and birds aren't usually a problem, most of the time dogs don't even notice the bird, like my Molly and Binkle, Molly rarely goes up to him but when she does, she gets disiplined by binkle! He doesn't really like her putting her face by his cage so he lets her know when she's getting too close, I always supervise their interactions though to make sure Molly, or more like Binkle, doesn't get out of hand or hurt the other. Now Bird Dogs (dogs that hunt them) may be a bit of a problem as well as the fiesty ferret that is always on the prowl. But just keep in mind, your bird will have it's time out of the cage and your other pets but make sure that they are not out at the same time!

P.s. If your bird gets injured or bitten by any of your pets or even licked, contact your avian veterinarian immedietly because your bird may need emergency treatment (for bacterial infection from a bite or scratch, or for shock from being sat or stepped on) to save its life! Any saliva may be life threatening to your bird, even a human's so that's why it's advised NOT to teach your bird the "kiss" trick.
